Logical problem solving class #3 at Yokohama National University

Today’s topic was syllogism. Even though this is an English term, any students did not know it. Deduction is a typical method of syllogism.

As usual, I started the class with the following question:


After some discussion, I showed the structure of syllogism (deduction) to explain the implicit assumption behind the logic.


This structure is a basis to bridge a specific premise and a conclusion supported by a universal premise (assumption).
