This was the case for the last class at Yokohama National University.
The students were required to develop a financial business plan to meet the case requirements with Microsoft Excel within 60 min.
This is not just an academic exercise nor just Excel operation practice.
They are strictly required to make sure that the assumptions are feasible enough to convince (virtual) investors to invest their plan.
In order to do it, Excel simulation model is extremely effective to change their assumptions and see how the result will change accordingly.
This will be a strong weapon when they need to justify their business plan not only from the innovative views but also from financial and practical views as well.
As it was not the first time for them, some students completed their own model just for half an hour.
Next week, I will announce another case for their final presentation to determine their final grades for the semester!
